Dame Olivia Newton-John (73), who was surrounded by family and friends, died quietly this morning at her ranch in Southern California, according to Easterling.

Newton-John, who had a long and prosperous career, is arguably best for playing Sandy alongside John in the musical film "Grease" from 1978. Travolta played Sandy's summer love interest Danny.

One of the most remarkable aspects of the movie is the connection between Sandy and Danny, which helped "Summer Nights" and "You're the One That I Want" become such well-known songs.

The two actors remained close friends after the movie ended. When Travolta learned of Newton-passing, John's he reacted immediately, and his statement will make you cry.
